Caolán had a passion for motorbikes from the cradle going to sleep with a motorbike under his pillow. All he ever wanted to do was race and finally he got to do so age 9 in the Ulster MX Championship and the Donegal MX Championship. The highlights of his MX years were initially on the grass where he was three times Monaghan Grasstrack Champion. He really got to grips with MX on his KTM 125cc were he won the coveted 'King of Kilfennan'.

2014 (switch from MX to road racing) : Aprilia RS 125, Honda GP 125
This year saw the beginning of Caolán's short circuit career on an Aprilia 125cc where Caolán was on the podium in every race he competed in. His best result being at Mondello Park International Circuit were he took a race win which signalled his move to the Honda GP 125 mid season. Since embracing the GP bike he has had continued success with consistent podium finishes. His best weekend was in St Angelo, Enniskillen where he now holds the lap record in his class with a second and a third in the National Moto 3 Championship races. Competed in Adelaide Masters Moto 3, ISB Moto 3, ISB Clubman's Moto 3,Thundersport GB superteen championship.

Thundersport GB Aprilia Superteen championship Competed in 2 rounds Donnington Park & Anglesey of the 10 round series, with 3 top 10 finishes & 3no 4th places in Nitro Newcomers, Posting the 5th quickest lap of the weekend at Donnington, currently 22nd in championship.

Caolán finished off the season by being selected for the prestigous RED Bull Rookies Selection event at Gaudix near Grenada in Spain. He was selected from 3,000 teenage riders who applied for the trials. Out of the initial 3,000 applications, 109 teenage riders were invited to atiend ridourous trials. This 109 was further whitiled down to 38 of the worlds fastest and most talented teenage riders from all around the world. On the final day Caolán impressed the judges both on and off the track, but unfortunately was not selected into the final twelve. Caolán feels this was the pinacle of his year, to race at world level with the best of his peers on an even stage which gives great weight to same make racing. We are very proud of his achievments.

2013: KTM 125 cc Irish Mx Championship Sustained an injury at first round of Irish championship which finished his season

2012: KTM 125cc won over 20 races including the last round of the Ulster Championship. He was crowned 'King of Kilfennan' winning all three rounds of the North of Ireland Championship. Donegal Championship 2nd having missed the first three rounds, finishing 90% of the remaining races in 1st place, received the 'Most promising Youth Rider in Donegal' award.

2011: SW Suzuki 85cc sustained a ruptured Spleen and a tear in his kidney early in March following an accident testing. Went on to win 10 races but most Championship hopes did not materialise due to his injury and missing championship rounds at the beginning of the year.1st Monaghan Grass Track Championship,3rd Donegal MX Championship st 2010: SW Suzuki 85cc 1 Place Monaghan Grass track Championship, 7th Place Donegal Championship, 12th Place Irish Championship, 10th Place Ulster Championship

2009: Suzuki 65cc first full year racing ,8th Ulster 65cc championship, 7th Donegal Championship
